Course objectives
This one-semester course is devoted to everyday life in the towns in the high and late Middle Ages. Attention is paid to material conditions, political culture and mentality of the burghers.

    Settlement topography of the city.
    City network of trade routes.
    City and war.

    The city as a center of learning.
    Of everyday life of the medieval city.
