Course objectives
1) Introduction to hardware Hardware, firmware, input and output devices, peripherals (keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, joystick, tablet, scanner, etc.), the basic unit (bite, byte), compatibility, IBM PC, FDD, HDD, SDRAM, DDR RAM, ROM, MB, DVD-ROM, Blu-Ray, CPU, GPU, interface for connecting external peripherals? slots and ports on the MB (PCIe, AGP, socket, LPT, USB, FireWire, PS / 2, VGA), AMD, Intel, BIOS, resources. 2) Introduction to software Software, application sofware, firmware, software license (OEM, freeware, trial, demo, shareware, GNU, open source), beta versions of software. Types of software: OS, software for audiovisual data processing, office software, software for directory and files, software for archiving and data backup, computer games, software for creating websites, software for communication on the Internet. 3) directories, files, file properties Directory, folder, file types and file attributes, data terminal extensions, executable files root directory structure, basic operations with folders and files, software for working with folders and files, convertibility and compatibility of data formats, data conversion examples. 4) Audio-visual data, software and hardware for processing video data Input and output devices for processing video data, audio editing software, video, images, data formats (postscript, vector graphics, sound files, video files, image formats), input and output device for processing video data (printer, scanner, camera , recorder, cameras, storage devices, accessories). 5) Backup and Archiving Compression, splitting compression (lossy, lossless), archiving, purpose, methods, backup, purpose, methods, software for archiving and backup (WinRar, WinZip, ARJ, MS Exchange, RAID array), digitization and its benefits, appropriate data formats for storing documents (PDF, XPS, TIFF), digital (electronic) signatures, certification authorities. 6) Storage Media Types, history, current trends, UDF, FDD, HDD, CD, DVD, Blue-Ray, flash drives, RAID, IDE, SATA, indicative rates, memory media parameters (capacity, bit rate, price, size, mobility). 7) Security Hardware and software security features, firewall, anti-virus programs (known types, approximate prices, license), viruses, viruses, malware, phishing, spam, possible solutions for the infection of PC, network data protection, prevention of virus infection, wireless security wi-fi (SSID, MAC filtering, 802.1X, WEP, WPA, WPA2) update. 8) Operating Systems History, Development, 32 b, 64 b OS, command and graphical OS, differences, types, intuitive OS, OS platform Microsoft (MS-DOS command, graphic WIN, their development (W95, W98, W Millenium, W 2000, W XP, Vista W, 7 W, the current state), UNIX, LINUX, distribution, open source, Linux philosophy., MAC OS X, updates, service packs, downgrade, upgrade licenses. OS for servers on the Windows platform development. 9) Software for office work Microsoft Office products and their development (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Publisher, InfoPath, Groove), OpenOffice.ogr (Writer, Calc, Math, etc.), data formats office packages (Doc,. Docx,. Xls., Xls.x,. Ppt,. Rtf,. Odt,. Txt), PDF format Adobe, Acrobat Reader, PostScript, PDF features, philosophy format. XML and its possible use for office data processing.
