Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the history of the World literature of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century as well as with the key authors, their works and literary movements in general.
Syllabus
  • Modernism and avant-gardes in the World literature in the beginning if the 20th century
    Modernist novel (e. g. J. Joyce, V. Woolf, M. Proust)
    Literary movements after the 2nd world war (existencialism, neorealism, nouveau roman, theatre of the absurd, beat generation, magic realism etc.)
