Course objectives
Within the course, students have to master a basic set of theoretical, methodological and pragmatic knowledge about information science. These include the interdisciplinary nature of the field of science, general problems of information science, issues of the information process, cognitive and social approaches to information science, research methodology in information science.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
- know the main topics of information science;
- use social science research methods;

  • 1. Development and methodology of Information Science, starting points and approaches to the definition of Information Science, paradigms of Information Science
  • 2. The concept of information and the sequence data-information-knowledge
  • 3. Subject of Information Science - information process
  • 4. Modern concepts of Information Science
  • 5. Individual disciplines of Information Science
  • 6. Social and cognitive aspects of Information Science, research trends in the field of Information Science
