Course objectives
The aim of the course is to explain the basic business structures and processes in connection with the use of IS / IT in various areas of business activities. Students will become familiar with the types of business information systems and their importance for the functioning of the company.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to:
- define basic concepts related to information systems;
- identify and describe individual types of information systems;
Syllabus
  • 1. Information society, a conception of information and informatics.
  • 2. Information systems and technologies, characteristics and classification.
  • 3. Enterprise in the information society, functional areas in company structure, information needs and information flows, the importance of IS / IT for business adaptability in a competitive environment.
  • 4. The concept of strategic information systems, information strategy of a company - its formation, planning, and implementation.
  • 5. Information management - development and current understanding of the concept.
  • 6. Enterprise information systems - ERP, SCM, CRM.
  • 7. Enterprise information systems - ECM, e-Business.
