Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarise students with the basic terminology of information science and to reflect on its main issues and research methods; to enable students to grasp the fundamental concept of ‘information’ from the perspective of various scientific fields and disciplines (with an emphasis on interdisciplinarity); and to cultivate students’ theoretical and critical thinking, with practical applications. The course can be studied remotely during a study period as part of the Erasmus-Socrates programme – prior arrangement with the ÚBK lecturer is required.

Active participation in lectures. Exam – written test To pass the written assessment, students must answer 3 open-ended questions from the thematic areas (see above) in such a way that each answer is marked at least E. Therefore, if an answer to any of the questions is missing or is marked F, the written exam cannot be passed!
