- Course objectives
- The course is intended for basic orientation of students in the system of consultancy. The aim of the course is to transfer theoretical findings of current possibilities of consultancy regarding both organizational aspect and aspect of possible approaches to client. It presents the fundamental principles of various theoretical approaches in both individual case work (e. g. psychoanalysis, systemic approach), and in family therapy and work with a group, especially in connection with various minority groups and their members. It approximates basic aspects of work with client in helping professions through first contact with client, anamnesis, diagnostics, intervention till termination of consultancy work, the attention is paid to issue of crisis intervention. It introduces also various institutions which provide consultancy. The lecture topics are followed by experience exercises in tutorials in which the principal skills necessary for social work are developed. In the tutorials, the practical skills necessary in contact with client, especially dialogue leading, ability of reflection of non-verbal communication of one´s own and client´s will be developed. We will use knowledge from lectures regarding suitable usage of questions. The feedback of successful training of students is secured by usage of video camera as well. In the tutorials, the students will be assigned partial control tasks - e.g. composition of family map, preparation of dialogue with client etc. Gained knowledge are interlinked with other subjects in Psychology and consultancy block and will be exploited complexly especially in Social work block (mainly in course Theory and Methods of Social Work and specialised practice).
