Course objectives
The aims of subject is acquaint students with the subject of social psychology as a psychological discipline, which deals with the psychological aspects of life of the individual in society, such as studying the forms of social perception, the influence of the personality, the process of socialization of individuals, attitudes, group dynamics, reaction to difficult life situations. Students will become familiar with selected major socio-psychological applications in relation to educational activities, the basic concepts of this area, the context, concepts and benefits in the theoretical and practical level.
Syllabus
  • 1. The object and history of social psychology, the location in the sciences system and the referential disciplines.
    2. Theories in social psychology.
    3. Methods of social psychology.
    4. Social cognition. "I" in social situations. Pathology of "I".
    5. Socialization of personality. Negative influences on socialization.
    6. Attitudes. Prejudices and stereotypes. The most common prejudices and stereotypes in the present.
    7. Social influence and personal control.
    8. Social perception. Mistakes in social perception.
    9. Social interaction. Altruism and pro-social behaviour.
    10. Demanding, stressful and confrontational social situation.
    11. Social groups, dividing of groups, group structure and leadership.
    12. Macro processes. Self-assertion in social environments.
