- Course objectives
- Students will get acquainted with the issues of creative art therapy. Students become familiar with art therapy approaches in which creative processes and aspects of visual arts play an important role. Students will be introduced to interdisciplinary artistic activities that are in the context of contemporary therapy and enhance mental well-being in seniors. Course objectives:
1. Students acquire systematic knowledge in the field of creative art therapy, which is necessary for the planning, implementation and reflection of art-therapeutic activities.
2. Students will acquire a theoretical background on art therapies, art techniques and procedures.
3. Students will understand authentic and distinctive expression, which is reflected, for example, in signs and symbols, verbalization, image and movement.
4. Students perceive the artistic process, follow the resulting works from artistic activities and discover symbolism.
5. Students realize dialogue and interpretation of artifacts.In the exercises, which are focused on the art therapy process, students should perceive the experience of creative activity and also discover the healing nature of the creative process. During the exercises, students will learn about current and beneficial artistic tendencies that are applicable and beneficial for educational care for seniors. - Learning outcomes
- Student:
- understands professional concepts from creative arts therapies that are needed for effective and ethical practice,
- can describe art techniques and art therapy approaches, - is able to create the concept of art-therapeutic activities for the target group,
- can interpret the creative process and the resulting artistic product. - Syllabus
- 1. Introduction: Art context, development and division of art therapy; 2. Strategies and methods; 3. Interdisciplinary character of art therapy; 4. Art therapy and artefiletic principles. Relaxation, art action, experience and experience; 5. Art therapy studio/creative space: Theme of activities, art therapy projects, planning and implementation, art materials and techniques; 6. The role of the art therapist and the creative atmosphere; 7. Visual and verbal communication as an exchange of information; 8. Spontaneous artistic expression and motivation for artistic expression; 9. Projection in the artistic process I.: Association and creative process; 10. Projection in the artistic process II.: Empathy, imagination and experiencing emotions; 11. Self-expression and self-transcendence; 12. "Reading images" and interpretation artistic expression: Signs and symbols
