Course objectives
LECTURE The aim of this course is to acquaint the students with the socio-pathological phenomena that occur in the society, the mastery of basic concepts of social pathology as a discipline dealing with their exploration in areas of social deviance, and also recognition and analysis of the causes and consequences in general. The course reflects the current problems in the field of socio-pathological phenomena among children, adolescents and adults. In the general theoretical level, it defines individuals and groups with psychopathological behavior. The emphasis is put on the prevention of socio-pathological behavior and conduct in all its forms. SEMINAR The course is primarily aimed at the deepening of knowledge from lectures, discussion of topics and the ability to develop a seminar paper on an interesting current topic for a presentation and subsequent discussion of professional character.

  • LECTURE
    1. Theoretical definition of the subject.
    2. Socialization disorders, behavioral disorders.
    3. Causes of the disruption of personality development.
    4. Personality disorders.
    5. Aggressive syndrome.
    6. Suicidal syndrome, self-aggression.
    7. CAN syndrome - syndrome of tortured, abused and neglected children.
    8. Domestic violence, bullying, violence in the profession.
    9. Stalking.
    10. Socio-pathological groups (, gang, mob, organized crime, rioting prisoners).
    SEMINAR
    1. How could psychology, psychiatry and psychotherapy help from the perspective of social pathology?
    2. Conduct disorders and personality disorders - organizations that can help in my neighborhood.
    3. Suicides from the perspective of social pathology.
    4. Problems of the increase in aggression in the society.
    5. Conduct disorders of children and youth, the inclusion of young people in social groups.
    6. Child abuse from the perspective of social pathology.
    7. Adult abuse from the perspective of social pathology.
    8. The issue of non-professional teaching approaches - the impact on the socialization of the child.
    9. Divorce rate, infidelity as other phenomena of social pathology.
    10. The issue of lack of communication as the beginning of social deviance.
    11. Influence of mass media on the Czech population.
    12. A politician as a moral authority and example (Past and Present).
    13. Emotions and our health.
    14. Aggressive behavior and sport.

Teacher's information
Students should produce technical material that will be the methodology for the lecture or a discussion on the topic of Prevention of Socially Pathological Phenomena, for the target group of students from high schools or colleges on the topic (of your choice: Prevention of suicidal behavior, Bullying at school and the place of work, The organizations in your city that can help you, Organized crime in the Czech Republic). Extension of the work: from 7 to 10 A4 pages. This material is suitable to use in professional practice. Date of elaboration - 6th week from the beginning of the semester. Quality elaboration is the requirement for obtaining credit. The criterion for the final evaluation criterion will be the quality of expertise, the efficiency for the practice, the quality and the choice of methodology for the target group.
