Course objectives
The aim is to understand the principles and voluntary work and motivation to her and theoretical training to volunteer work both in terms of volunteer management and in terms of volunteering. Students are acquainted with the specifics of voluntary work in different areas of the helping professions and they provide space for debate and practical verification knowledge. Learning outcomes: Expertise: Student gains and demonstrate knowledge of basic principles of volunteer work and its history in the country and will be familiar with the opportunities and barriers to volunteering. It will focus on the legislative anchoring of volunteer work in the Czech Republic and the issue of volunteer centers and organizations in which the volunteer work performed. Professional skills: Students are well versed in the methodology of acquisition, preparation and registration of volunteers. Student will learn to communicate with volunteers and will be able to recognize communication difficulties in voluntary work. Students will be prepared to participate in volunteer management, will focus on rewarding volunteers and its opportunities and the interactions of volunteers, employees and the public. General fitness: Students are able to perceive the social importance and necessity of voluntary work, not only in the helping professions. By completing the course, students will be eligible not only to use their knowledge and skills in a particular volunteer work, but will be able to better respond to the needs of clients and members of work teams in organizations. Methods of the course will be supported by student orientation for volunteer work.
Syllabus
  • 1.Volunteering, the principles of volunteering, the types of volunteering, volunteering.
    2. The Universal Declaration on volunteering, volunteerism legislation in the country.
    3. History of volunteerism in the country.
    4. Opportunities and barriers to volunteering in the Czech Republic, volunteer centers, organizations and projects, strengths and weaknesses.
    5. Personality volunteer.
    6. Methodology acquisition, preparation, registration and supervision of volunteers, communication with volunteers, communication possibilities - communication difficulties - situational contexts.
    7.Management volunteering. Remuneration of volunteers and the possibility of rewarding interaction volunteers and nedobrovolníků. Employee relationship - volunteer - fan - the public.
    8. 12. Practical examples of volunteer projects.
