Course objectives
LECTURE The goal is to provide students with insight into the problems of the family, its development, forming relationships within the family, etc. The course is based on the fundamental characteristics of family history and contemporary Czech society, defines its functions, especially focusing on the educational function. Attention will be paid to the organization and the family atmosphere, in general, educational features and functions that are difficult in raising children.The concept of parenting, exposure to adequate educational resources, etc., will be analyzed in detail.

  • LECTURE
    1. Biological and cultural roots of the family. Family as a biological phenomenon.
    2. Socio-psychological view of the family.

    3. Family from sociological point of view.

    4. Contemporary family - its concept and current problems

    5. Family functions with respect to the child and their failure. How the family influences socialization development and educational success. child / adolescent. Changes of Parental Education in Czech Family.

    6. Problems, conflicts and divorce. Single parent family. Step-families. 7. The current trend of motherhood removal. Absence of parenthood - involuntary childlessness. Homosexual partner families

    8. Basic forms of foster care in the Czech Republic. Parenting in a surrogate family.
    9. Families with neglected, deprived and abused children.
