Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with a volunteer experience. During the course, students will reflect on their volunteer experience and its benefits in relation to personal and professional growth. The course aims to promote civic engagement among students while allowing them to try out volunteering.
Learning outcomes
Upon completing the course, the student will be able to: - explain the social significance and personal benefits of volunteering, - apply knowledge gained from theoretical studies in practice, - identify obstacles to engaging people in volunteering, - critically reflect on the limitations of volunteering, especially in education, healthcare, or social services, - reflect on the personal and professional benefits of the volunteer activities performed.

Teacher's information
At the beginning of the semester, an instructional block will take place in which students will gain basic knowledge about volunteering as a form of civic participation and as a tool for personal and professional growth. They will become familiar with the rights and responsibilities of volunteers and the role of the volunteer coordinator. They will also learn about the current volunteer opportunities in the region. Subsequently, students will complete a 36-hour volunteer activity. They will then write a structured self-reflection based on a predefined format.
