Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the current state of the reform of the care system for children at risk in the Czech Republic, including an introduction to innovative concepts, methods, and practices used in the field. Students will be guided to understand the significance and possibilities of interprofessional cooperation between schools and social workers, including the potential role of a social pedagogue in the school environment. Another aim of the course is to support the ability to engage in critical discussion on the challenges and opportunities associated with the care of children at risk and the cooperation of various professions.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to: -Describe the current state of the reform of the care system for children at risk in the Czech Republic. -Explain key innovative concepts, methods, and practices used in the care of children at risk. -Analyse examples of interprofessional cooperation between schools and social workers. -Identify opportunities for the role of a social pedagogue in the school environment. -Discuss the challenges and opportunities related to the care of children at risk and the cooperation of various professions. -Critically reflect on their own attitudes towards the issue and propose solutions based on proven practices.

The role of Authority for Social and Legal Protection of Children in social work with families. 4. Social services in the system of care for children at risk in the Czech Republic. 5. Assessment of the child's needs and individual planning. 6. Interprofessional Colaboration in the schools. 7. Social pedagogue/Social Worker in the schools. 8. Early care. 9. Family group conferences - an innovative method. 10. Institucional and Foster Care. 10. Social pedagogue/Social worker in schools. 12. Involvement of volunteers in social work with children, youth, and families.

1. Completion of ongoing tasks. 2. Seminar Paper: A prerequisite for being admitted to exam is the submission of a seminar paper on a given topic, with a minimum length of 3,600 characters including spaces and with references to academic sources (according to the citation standard ISO 690:2022). 3. Oral examination.
