- Course objectives
- The course Quantitative Methods makes the participants acquainted with basic knowledge and terms from the area of algebra and mathematics so that the students shall be able to use the introduced constructions and explained thought and numerical procedures in their future autonomous study. Further, they will acquire a variety of numerical skills.
- Learning outcomes
- The student can define the linear space of a matrix, knows the rules for matrix operations, understands the calculation of determinants and their use, is able to apply Cramer's rule for dividing systems of linear equations, is able to distinguish and define arithmetic and geometric sequences, understands the concepts of convergent and divergent sequences, is able to define real functions of one real variable and their properties, knows graphs of elementary functions, understands the concept of the derivative of a function and is able to analyze the course of a function using differential calculus, understands the concepts of indefinite and definite integrals and is able to apply the definite integral in practical problems.

- Během semestru se konají 3 soustředění po 4 hod. Studenti zpracují seminární práci, která se sestává z řešení vybraných příkladů vztahujících se k probírané látce. Odevzdání seminární práce v předem stanovaném termínu je nutnou podmínkou pro možnost zapsat se na termín zkoušky. Studenti kombinovaného studia mají rozšířené možnosti konzultovat látku včetně seminární práce s vyučujícími předmětu.
