- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to present a variety of translation theories and their application. The students will be acquainted with the basic concepts and methods of translation, from determining the strategy to editing. They become aware of the multidisciplinary character of translation studies, and both linguistic and cultural differences between English and Czech. All theoretical information will be demonstrated upon text analysis. The course is providing the students with theoretical and methodological basis for their translation work.
