Syllabus
  • Communication and presentation skills: Rhetoric and communication. Principles of communication. Specifics of verbal and nonverbal communication. Types of presentations. Competences of a successful presenting person. The art of listening.
  • Rules for a successful presentation. NLP method. Verbal communication: Control of verbal expressions - effective use of words, speech techniques. Form of a language. Vocabulary. Use of phrases. Accepted words. Common mistakes in verbal expressions and their prevention.
  • Nonverbal communication: The concept and meaning of nonverbal communication. Components of nonverbal communication: facial expressions, proxemics, kinesics and gestures, posturology, haptics, paralinguistics, eye contact. Personal appearance. Business meeting in terms of non-verbal communication. Non-verbal communication and selective interview.
  • Personal image or self-presentation: Cognition of personality. Self-knowledge. Self-reflection. Types of temperament. Self-motivation to manage conflict and stressful situations, coping with fear. Assertiveness.
  • Business negotiations and teamwork: Phases of business negotiations. Techniques for conducting successful business conversations. Collective bargaining. Team roles. Effective communication in a team. Effective manager communication.
  • Creating the structure of the presentation: Preparation of the presentation: setting the goal and purpose, audience analysis, determining the content and choosing the presentation style. Presentation structure. Own presentation: form and language, non-verbal communication, work with the audience - attention gaining and maintaining. Working with voice. Influencing the audience. Leading a discussion. Presentation ethics. Technical means and visualization. Powerpoint presentation options. Common mistakes in electronic presentations and their prevention.
  • Presentation and communication in English: Convincing formulations and expressions in English. Preparation and management of the presentation. Coping with issues and conflict situations. Samples and examples in English.
