Cíle předmětu
The goal of the course is to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and understanding of cultural values, religions, and intercultural communication, enabling them to participate effectively in international and business contexts. The course develops students’ ability to recognize, analyze, and critically evaluate cultural differences, stereotypes, and prejudice as potential barriers to intercultural interaction. Students will gain insight into the significance of religions, both ancient and contemporary, including Judaism and Islam, and understand their historical and cultural contexts. The course also emphasizes the application of intercultural training, including the Galli Method, to real-life situations, fostering students’ intercultural competence, reflective thinking, and practical skills in managing global communication and cultural diversity.
Výstupy z učení

Upon successful completion of the course Culture Values in Business Communication, students will demonstrate knowledge of key concepts of intercultural communication, globalization, culture, and collective mental programming. They will be able to analyze cultural values and their influence on international and business communication, identify and evaluate stereotypes, prejudice, and discrimination, and propose strategies to overcome them. Students will also describe and compare the principles of ancient religions, Judaism, and Islam, assess their historical and contemporary significance, and apply this knowledge to intercultural situations, including insights from the PEACE project.

Výukové metody
The course combines interactive lectures, seminar discussions, and student presentations with project-based learning (PEACE project) to develop intercultural competence. Students engage in case studies, group work, role-playing, and simulations to apply theoretical knowledge in practice. Independent research, multimedia resources, and reflective exercises support  deeper understanding of cultural values, religions, stereotypes, and their impact on international business communication. 
Metody hodnocení
  • Student Presentations (30 points): Independent oral presentation (min. 20 minutes) on an approved or instructor-approved topic, assessed for content, clarity, and relevance.

  • Continuous Assessment (20 points): Participation in class activities, interactive tasks, and homework.

  • Final Credit Test (50 points): Written (or oral) exam covering key concepts, theories, and applications of intercultural communication.

  • Total / Passing: 100 points total; minimum 60 points required to pass.
