Study-related information

  • Parts of the final state examination and its content
Final State Examination has three parts:
    1) Master's thesis defence,
    2) Theoretical physics,
    3) Relativistic astrophysics

Theoretical physics part verifies the knowledge from the following fundamental thematic areas of studies in programme Physics:
Theory of relativity, Quantum mechanics, Statistical physics, Quantum theory fundamentals, Material structure fundamentals and Mathematical analysis in extent of corresponding courses of fundamental study profile, which are common to all specializations.

Relativistic astrophysics part verifies the knowledge typical for this specialization, i.e., the knowledge of relativistic astrophysics parts that form content of following fundamental study profile courses: Process in the vicinity of black holes, Relativistic physics and astrophysics II, Compact stars and Compact objects with magnetic fields.

Parts of State Rigours Examination and their contents

The State Rigours Examination has two parts:
    1) Rigour theis defence,
    2) Relativistic astrophysics

Relativistic astrophysics part verifies the knowledge relativistic astrophysics parts, which form the contents of following of the fundamental master study profile courses: Process in the vicinity of black holes, Relativistic physics and astrophysics II, Compact stars, Compact objects with magnetic fields, and the knowledge of advanced relativistic astrophysics parts associated with the rigour thesis topic.
  • Suggestion of theses topics and the topics of defended theses
    Diploma thesis proposals:
    - Effect of neutron stars rotation on phenomena in their vicinity,
    - Electrically charged toroidal structures in relativistic spacetimes,
    - Alternative theories of gravity.

    Defended diploma thesis
(topics are part of relativistic astrophysics and defended in actual master study programme Physics, followed by the proposed study programme Theoretical physics ):
    - Properties of Hartle-Thorne spacetimes,
    - Electrically charged toroidal structures rotating around magnetized Schwarzschild black hole,
    - Study of radiation from point source on general geodesics in spacetimes of compact objects,
    - Model of satellite galaxy motion including effect of dark energy.

    Rigour thesis topics propposal:
    - Phase transitions in compact stars,
    - Electromagnetic radiation from accretion disks in vicinity of black holes.
