Course objectives
The aim of the course is to deepen and strengthen all the language skills systematically, to master grammatical structures of the language, to improve oral and written forms of the language with the professional content, to master pronunciation, listening and understanding, to improve the ability to participate in a dialogue within the frame of a given professional topic. Emphasis will be put on the appropriate choice of language means, on a wider usage of professional language in different situations, on correct performance, on widening their vocabulary with professional terminology from the area of tourism.
Syllabus
  • 1. Grammar revision: Conjunction, present tense. Modal verbs and verb wissen. Subject man and es.
    New grammar: Infinitive depending on noun and adjective. Infinitive depending on verb. Usage of Platz, Stelle, Ort.
    2. Grammar revision: Demonstrative pronouns. Reflexive verbs. Imperative.
    New grammar: Demonstrative pronouns. Pronoun einander. Prepositions with genitive. Usage of Ende and Schluss. Usage of endlich and schlie?lich.
    3. Grammar revision: Time telling. Adjectival adverbs.
    New grammar: Indirect questions. Clauses of manner. Clauses of concessions. Relative clauses.
    4. Grammar revision. Comparison of adjectives and adverbs. Verb tun.
    New grammar: Violation of clause frame after wie and als. Comparison of adjectives in predicate. Adverbs with -(e)stens, and -st. Usage of machen and tun.
