Elaboration of seminar work, compulsory participation in seminars is at least 80%. Students will prepare an analysis of the chosen social situation in the range of at least 7 pages. They will include the chosen social situation in the social security system and propose a solution to this situation. Students submit the processed paper no later than two weeks before the start of the credit week, so that the teacher has the opportunity to evaluate the work and, if necessary, return to reworking by e-mail. The student will be able to continuously consult individually studied topics of the subject through e-mail, individual or group consultations. The processed topic is a condition for admission to the exam.
Written exam, part of the course are also seminars that deal with further and in-depth analysis of problems that follow the lectures. Students create groups (2-3), each characterizes a selected target group of clients - counseling. Students will prepare an analysis of the chosen social situation, which will be presented at the seminar. Describe the benefits and disadvantages of working with this group of clients - the area of counseling and the system of benefits and services for the given group - the area of counseling. Part of the presentation is modeling of work with the client, modeling will be reflected in the group. The processed and presented topic is a condition for admission to the exam.

Course objectives
The course Consultancy in PA is conceived to give basic orientation of students in the system of consultancy. The aim of the course is to transfer theoretical findings of current possibilities of consultancy regarding both organizational aspect and aspect of possible approaches to client. It presents the fundamental principles of theoretical approaches to students in individual case work (e.g. psychoanalysis, systemic approach), as well as in family therapy (V. Satir) and work with a group. It approximates the fundamental aspects of work with clients in helping profession through the first contact with the client, anamnesis, diagnostics, intervention till termination of consultancy work, the attention is paid to issue of crisis intervention as well. It presents also various institutions which offer consultancy. The instruction is based on connecting theoretical knowledge with practical skills and interactive experiential direct experience. It is based on the active experience of the students, which they acquired during their professional internships. The acquired knowledge is connected with other course subjects. Study Outcomes: Professional Knowledge: Students can define basic concepts of the theory of consulting and they are familiar with the principles of mental health care. They are well informed on basic counselling intervention approaches. Professional Skills: Students can communicate correctly with the client, respecting the current context for the communication. They master the technique of active listening and asking questions to enable themselves to respect the requirements and the current issues of the client, focusing on their solutions. General Qualification: They are able to pass the required information to the client in an appropriate, adequately intelligible manner.
