- Course objectives
- The aim of the subject is to equip students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of education of children and pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders with a focus on educational and intervention processes within the framework of inclusive education and the segregation system of education with the ability to apply strategies and methods suitable for this group of children and pupils.
- Learning outcomes
- Expertise:
- the student is able to characterize a mild mental disability and the specifics of educating pupils with this disorder
- the student can characterize autism spectrum disorders, knows the specifics and peculiarities of this disorder and the specifics of educating students with this disorder
- the student is able to apply legislative norms regarding school issues of education of children and pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- the student knows the educational system for children, pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- the student can describe the system of counseling services for children, pupils with mild mental disabilities and with autism spectrum disorders
- the student knows the special methods used in the educational process of children and pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- the student knows strategies for solving problematic behavior of children and pupils with mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders within the educational and diagnostic process
Specific expertise:
- the student can characterize the methods and forms of teaching for the education of pupils with mental disabilities based on the new findings of science
Professional skills:
- the student can define the special educational needs of children and pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
- the student can analyze the educational process of persons with mild mental disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders
- the student can apply special methods and forms of work with children and pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders
Specific professional skills:
- the student can independently apply special pedagogical procedures aimed at pupils with special educational needs (especially pupils listed in § 16, paragraph 9 of the School Act with a focus on working with pupils with mental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders)
General qualifications:
- the student can reflect on experiences from his own practice and use reflection in a targeted way as a tool for professional learning
- the student is able to independently acquire additional professional knowledge, skills and general competence based mainly on practical experience and its evaluation, but also by independent study of theoretical knowledge of the field
- the student can clearly summarize the opinions of other team members in order to apply them to special educational programs

- 6. Framework educational program for basic education, framework educational program with outputs of the minimum recommended level in the case of third-level support measures for pupils with mild mental disabilities
- 7. Educational areas of the Framework Educational Program for basic education and their specifics in the education of pupils with mild mental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders

- Assessment methods
- Preparation, implementation and presentation of a project focused on the educational reality or diagnostic process of a selected student with a mild mental disability or autistic spectrum disorders within the framework of inclusive and segregated education. The presentation of the completed project is a condition for registering for the oral exam. Oral exam.

- Teacher's information
- Personal contact in lessons, consultation hours. During ongoing studies, the student uses study support and processes selected correspondence tasks. Here, at the same time, he will demonstrate his knowledge of compulsory literature and contact teaching lectures. The student will be able to continuously consult individually studied subject topics via e-mail, individual or group consultations. The subject has an e-learning course prepared in IS SU and a team established in MS Teams, which also serves as another possible tool for communication with the teacher and between students.
