Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic knowledge and skills of the field of automation technology. Students are introduces to ways of controlled systems earmarking on the technological device, methods of its mathematical description, types and characteristics of regulators and feedback control theory. Furthermore, the objective of the course is to provide students with knowledge of the methods of technological processes management on the computer and the basic types used control algorithms and methods for their synthesis. There are solved questions of the automated control systems reliability. Use of this problem is documented on examples.

  • 1. Basic concepts of process control.
    2. Term of a system.
    3. System identification.
    4. System identification by mathematical-physical analysis.
    5. Deterministic identification methods.
    6. Control loop function, a theory of negative feedback, blocks diagrams.
    7. Controllers, their properties and performance.
    8. Setting control loops quality.
    9. Use computers in automatic control systems.
    10. Role, function and structure of control systems, automatic control systems as cybernetic systems.
    11. Synthesis of control algorithm, theoretic problems of automatic control systems.
    12. Issue of optimal control, the role of computer models in the design, implementation and operation of automatic control systems.
    13. Selecting control objectives and the degree of automation by technology-economic aspects.
