- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to explain the basic business structures and processes in connection with the use of IS / IT in various areas of business activities. Students will become familiar with the types of business information systems and their importance for the functioning of the company.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will be able to:
- define basic concepts related to information systems;
- identify and describe individual types of information systems; - Syllabus
- 1. Information society, a conception of information and informatics.
- 2. Information systems and technologies, characteristics and classification.
- 3. Enterprise in the information society, functional areas in company structure, information needs and information flows, the importance of IS / IT for business adaptability in a competitive environment.
- 4. The concept of strategic information systems, information strategy of a company - its formation, planning, and implementation.
- 5. Information management - development and current understanding of the concept.
- 6. Enterprise information systems - ERP, SCM, CRM.
